Reduction of O&M costs

One of the projects XEMC started under this program is ‘Island operation’ that mitigates the risk of turbine damage due to the absence of the grid.

Presently for offshore installations costly power back up systems are applied. Systematic failure mode and effect analyses to improve the design but also as a basis for condition based maintenance are a constant effort.

Smart sensoring and data analyses is another aspect to implement condition based maintenance ultimately with the aim to reduce O&M cost.
